Alex: A story of perseverance and struggle
I was once an average student in high school getting ready to graduate. Then, on February 13, 2010, I went to a party, fell down the stairs and acquired a serious brain injury. As a result, I was in the hospital for a year and four days recovering and when I got out, I had to go back to high school and graduate.
After graduating, I went to Fanshawe for Diesel Mechanic but because of muscle problems as a result of my injury, I had to drop out. A year later, I came back to Fanshawe for Computer Programming and have been successful so far. Now I hope to continue on with it and graduate in 2016.
