Alyssa: A story of never giving up
Hello, my name is Alyssa I am a student with a great story. I am 26 and am a full-time student with a learning disability. When I was younger, a lot of people told me I would never grow up to do much but I never gave up, and now I am in college in the Community Integration Through Co-operative Education/Early Childhood Education program.
I was one of eight students accepted into the first CICE group and have made many friends along the way. I am enjoying it and now I'm in my second term of my first year. Last term I made the Dean's Honour Roll.
My success means you should never judge a book by its cover. I am smart and I will never give up my dream of working with children.
I hope you enjoyed my story!
What brought you to Fanshawe?
I always wanted to work with children and I am one of the very first students to be accepted into the Community Integration Through Co-operative Education (CICE) program.
Tell us about your favourite Fanshawe experience.
I love the friends that I have made ...and the study break where all the puppies come in! It is a great way to relax while everyone has exams!
What impact has Fanshawe had on your life?
Fanshawe has changed me. I speak better and I love getting out and pursuing what I love to do.
