Angela: A story of inspiration
Angela has always had an interest in how things work.
“I wanted to be a car mechanic,” she says. “But I discovered aviation had better career opportunities and it looked like a lot of fun.”
Angela is in her first year of the Aviation Technician – Aircraft Maintenance program and is happy she chose Fanshawe. “It’s been a fantastic experience learning about and taking apart engines,” she says. “It’s great for me to compare car engines to aircraft engines.”
Despite entering a field that is typically male-dominated, Angela uses this as a source of inspiration. “I’m breaking a stereotype and showing that women can have a career in an industry that in the past, we’ve been told we shouldn’t do.”
