Arjun: A story of a proud Canadian
When I boarded the plane to Canada, I carried fear and excitement along with my suitcases. I had long dreamed of studying abroad but when the day to leave arrived I announced that I had changed my mind and would stay to make my life in India. My parents were sympathetic but firm: It was too late to back out. Minutes later I was on my way to the airport.
Like every student at Fanshawe, I wanted to press the fast forward button to see what life had in store for me. I was eager to move on to the next day, the next month and the next year to get answers to the questions that were buried deep in my heart. As time went by, I gained knowledge, I made friends, and then it happened; I fell in love.
I fell in love with a place that had given me a home when my parents had packed me off to Canada. I was in love with the people of the Fanshawe community who had met me with open arms every day since I arrived in Canada. It was Fanshawe that brought joy to my life and made sure that every day my smile was bright and wide. It is because of Fanshawe that I will be a proud Canadian for the rest of my life. Where I was once-upon-a-time a fearful and bewildered student, I am now a proud employee. There’s no place like Fanshawe. I Heart Fanshawe!
