Brittany: A story of teen mom

I got pregnant when I was 16 but I continued going to school. I left just five days before I had my daughter and went back a month after to get my credits. I ended up needing a total of four credits to get my grade 12, so I did the required booklets to complete it.

I graduated in January 2015 and applied to Fanshawe right away. I am now in my second semester and my daughter will be two in April.

I am so proud that I did not become another statistic of teen pregnancy. To all the other teen moms out there - it is possible and you can do it!!

What brought you to Fanshawe?

The Law Clerk brought me to Fanshawe, I lived in Blenheim and St. Clair didn't offer Law programs and Law is something I have always been interested in.

Tell us about your favourite Fanshawe experience.

I haven't been able to attend any functions or events but the open house was amazing. Once I came to that I knew Fanshawe was the best place for me to continue my education!

What impact has Fanshawe had on your life?

I have met new friends who have encouraged me to go farther and do better in my studies. Friends are what help you get through school and I am so thankful for them.
