Christina: A story of determination
I grew up with a learning disability and I still have one. I was often told I would never be able to graduate high school or even attend college - I was told the learning disability could and/or would hold me back. I graduated high school with honors in social science and humanities. Six months later, I started at Fanshawe I was accepted in the Early Childhood Education program.
Throughout school, I have been able to hold my GPA high and come out with mostly A's and B's - I'm the first grandchild in my family to not only attend but almost complete post-secondary education. Sure, it's become difficult at times, but I have been able to make it through with determination and a never give up attitude.
