Doug: A story of longevity

It was 1995 as I began my journey at the Fanshawe Fitness Centre. I just wanted to help people achieve their fitness goals. My unwavering focus on customer service allowed me to move up the ranks and eventually become General Manager. My secret to success was to surround myself with good people who are dedicated to helping others reach their full potential.

Fast forward 20 years; and now instead of helping members with fitness routines – I am dedicated to assisting staff to grow – while still maintaining a strong customer service focus. I also sit on advisory committees dedicated to helping academic programs maintain high standards and respond to community needs.

I am proud of the relationships that have been built with Fitness members and also college staff who have become friends and colleagues. I view the college as truly a large family – one that overcomes challenges, and works collaboratively to accomplish goals – just as I ask our staff and fitness clients to do.

I am very proud to be working at the College 20 years later - and also proud that I met at Fanshawe (and later married) Teresa Arnsby who works in Retail Services.
