Frank: A story of public service!
What brought you to Fanshawe?
Being born and raised here in London, Ontario, it was a natural choice to attend Fanshawe College. I had heard the Architectural Technology program was one of the toughest, but it allowed me to build on my Building Construction Technology education and diploma from H.B. Beal Secondary School. As a kid, I recall being fascinated with excavation and construction sites around town and I would take pictures of construction projects and study them later.
Tell us about your favourite Fanshawe experience.
The best experience at Fanshawe was meeting many different people, of different backgrounds and ethnicity. We all became fast friends in the classroom as the workload forced us into groups and it was sink or swim! In fact, I am sure I lost some of my hair in the drafting room and I want it back! The faculty members were all so great and the guidance counsellor's were golden!
What impact has Fanshawe had on your life?
Upon graduation, my career began in a building department. My interest in design, building code and fire code served me well. I highly recommend students get involved with professional associations related to your course of study - good things will happen for you.
Currently, I continue to love learning and living this great life, thank you Fanshawe!
Best wishes to all current students and a shout-out to all my old buds - get in touch!
