Heather: A story of searching
What brought you to Fanshawe?
It has always made me feel like I wanted to be there. I didn't always know what I wanted to learn; but I wanted to do it at Fanshawe. The feeling that "everyone is welcome here" is something that always resonated with me, especially as someone that didn't always feel they belonged in general.
Tell us about your favourite Fanshawe experience.
I would have to say that would be my Theatre Arts Program experience: almost the entire two years. I discovered what talent and skill I really had for acting and I will always remember my first two major plays. I graduated with a 3.94 GPA. It was just something I never thought I would accomplish. In high school I didn't want to go to college, but Fanshawe changed my mind.
What impact has Fanshawe had on your life?
I will be returning to Fanshawe in September 2016. I was looking at other schools to take Video Game Design, but it just seemed that I'd always had such a positive experience at Fanshawe that it was the obvious choice for me once again. I can't wait to come back. Anytime someone asks me where I went to school, I answer them with pride: "Fanshawe, I loved it!"
