Kayla: A story of perseverance
My story is a long one so I'm going to do my best to make this short. I dropped out of University when I was 20 years old - I've always preferred working over attending class so it seemed like a good idea at the time. I became a floral designer by day and a bartender by night, and I loved living a hectic life. At this time my mother, who was in remission, was diagnosed with breast cancer again...Fast forward to 2014 and in the past four years I have lost a child, my parents, a friend, an uncle and three pets.
Since my dad's death in July I've been in a dark place, questioning every choice I've ever made, trying to figure out if the way that I was living was what was right for me.
I decided that I didn't want to ever die with regret and that I wanted to set a good example for my girls so I came back to school to study Business, a subject I've always been very interested in, and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made.
I am so thankful to have been accepted to Fanshawe, a school where I can continue my education without compromising quality time with my family.
