Kelly: A story of dedication
I put up quite a fight when it came to Fanshawe. Since I was a kid, I was told University was the only way to go, and College was never enough. In my last year of high school, I got really sick, and my grades dropped. I didn't get into any university, and everywhere was full. Last minute, I applied to Fanshawe for Theatre. In 24 hours, I was accepted, and a week later, I moved three hours to London. On the second day of theatre, I realized it wasn't for me. But dropping out wasn't acceptable in my family. I powered through, but ended up failing. I withdrew, and ended up in general arts. I was crushed. All my life goals and dreams kept failing on me. Through all of it, Fanshawe was on my side. They supported me and helped me make good decisions. After three years at Fanshawe, trying to get my barrings, I now currently attend Western University for Sociology. I always tell people how when the going gets tough, you aren't alone. Constantly failing doesn't mean you give up, it means you change your plan of action. Im forever thankful for Fanshawe College keeping me dedicated and helping me go in the right direction.
