Larry: A story of growth
Larry Lau’s then-future impact on the digital marketing landscape was evident when the self-taught computer programmer and web developer created his first website at 12 years old. Larry grew the website, an homage to his boyhood passion for Pokemon, into the fifth most visited Pokemon site on the Internet.
In 2009, Larry turned to Fanshawe’s Marketing Management program to harness his digital skills to create impactful campaigns capable of driving value for business.
While at Fanshawe, Larry co-founded ATMOS Marketing, growing it into an award-winning agency with 13 employees and a high-profile client list. In May 2015, ATMOS merged with another London, Ontario company to create Northern Commerce, the fastest growing full-service eCommerce agency in Canada.
Larry credits his Fanshawe education for setting him up to succeed, which is why the 27-year old serial entrepreneur remains engaged with the college, sharing his knowledge and expertise to advance the industry. He participates in the Larry Myny Mentorship Program at Fanshawe College, engaging young marketers as they pursue their educational and professional development goals. He also sits on a Program Advisory Committee where he helped develop the curriculum for the College’s new four-year Bachelor of Commerce – Digital Marketing degree launched in September 2015.
“Fanshawe has had a huge impact on our company’s success. That’s why we do so much with Fanshawe now,” says Lau.
