Nick: A story of passion
I came to Fanshawe last year with the intentions of graduating from the two year Culinary Management program and becoming a police officer. I spoke to quite a few recruiting officers, and each one told me to just take something I enjoy and succeed with it. I figured "why not take a program that will make me a better cook?" as it's something I'd have to do for the rest of my life, so I may as well be good at it, right?
Two weeks into my program (after my first practical kitchen lab) I fell in love with cooking. I knew that I would run my own restaurant one day. I woke up each day looking forward to going to class and learning. I found something that I'm passionate about and I can see myself waking up happy every day and actually looking forward to going to work.
Along with this I have made some of the best, most genuine friends that I've ever had as well as enough amazing memories to last me a lifetime. I came out of my shell and I've never felt like I belonged anywhere more in my life.
I can't imagine how different my life would be if I hadn't come to Fanshawe.
