Nicolle: A story of my new dream
Looking back now, I remember being 18 years old, not knowing what I wanted to do with my life; I never considered going to college. For years and years I watched my friends move on with their lives and there I was standing still, feeling frozen, like I'd never move forward.
Six years went by and still I couldn't think of anything I wanted to do. My mother suggested things but they weren't things I could see myself ever doing as a career. Near the end of 2013, I realized what I wanted to do and it makes me happy every time I think about it. At the same time, I regret that I never thought of it before.
For the past 10 years, I have been going to a convention in Toronto called Anime North where I like to cosplay. I like to dress up in costumes, go to events and take photos and be amazed over the creativity. But over the years, I've seen people who have bought costumes overly priced and have been poorly made.
My dream is to show my creativity by designing and making cosplays. Not just for me, but for other people who attend these events as well.
