Paisley: A story of determination
I always went through school looking up to my mom. She worked in the hospital so I did a co-op in high-school in the x-ray department. I fell in love with it and knew that's what I wanted to do. In the summer of 2011, my dreams came true when I was accepted to the Pre-Health Science program; the first step on my journey to get into the X-ray program. I was accepted and was going to live with my best friend.
That's when my life changed. My best friend and I got in an accident, leaving left us both broken and bruised. She hit her head pretty hard and that's when it all changed. I struggled to get through my courses, worrying about my best friend and dealing with my own injuries as well.
Fanshawe worked with my mom and I and found a solution that allowed me to switch my courses over and graduate with a diploma in General Arts and Science, which is where I found my love of Psychology.
Now I dream of getting a degree in Psychology, hopefully something to do with sports, and I am so grateful for that.
