Rachel: A story of starting over

I graduated with a diploma in Broadcast Journalism from another institution in 2003 and worked for a decade in radio news. With a reduction in available positions, I found myself working in the financial district. After a few years working in banking, I decided it was time to go back to school as part of Ontario's Second Careers program.

I graduated in 2017 on the Dean's Honour Roll with my post graduate certificate in Public Relations and Corporate Communications. While studying at Fanshawe, I started an internship in the Fanshawe Alumni and Advancement Office and was lucky enough to be hired on following graduation. Attending Fanshawe has changed my life in more ways than I can express. Going back to school as an adult is daunting and the school supported me the entire way.

I am forever thankful for Fanshawe and the new life it has provided me! I am #FanshaweForever!
