Tiffany: A story of hope & self-motivation
Growing up was never easy for me and things didn’t start to be positive for me until I started my career at Fanshawe College. All my life I have struggled with depression and family issues. Growing up for me was all about my brother, so I was automatically forced to take care of myself, at least that’s what it felt like. I never got pride in the things I completed nor was I ever told that my family was proud of me. I didn’t have the support system I have now.
I want to be a child and youth worker for many reasons. Since I was 11 years old I knew I wanted to help those who struggled with the same things that I did and I want each and every single one of them to know, they are not alone. I want to incorporate my life experiences, personality and the need to want to help others. For the past 2 years Fanshawe College has felt like home. First year was rough for me and I barely passed, but after completely understanding how people think and feel the way I did, I aimed for hope and began using my field as self-therapy and now I have a 4.0 GPA because I strived for happiness and success.
YOU are your motivation.
